Lake District Day 1: Coniston to Eskdale
Lake District Day 2: Eskdale to Black Sail Hut
Lake District Day 3: Scafell Pike
Lake District Day 4: Black Sail Hut to Keswick
Approx. 8 km – with Christian.
The initial planned route was about 13k. But after the trip yesterday we (or was it just me?) decided to take it easy. So we went down to Buttermere, which, I think, was the most beautiful part of the whole 4 days. Locals guided us to a café with the best ice cream in the village. From there we took the bus to near Keswick. We didn’t want to be THAT lazy so we walked a little along Derwentwater into Keswick.
Keswick is a town of about 5000 inhabitants, so not that big. But after 4 days in the middle of nowhere with no mobile reception and meeting max. 20 people per day, I hated to be back in civilisation. Too many people, too many cars, too much noise, NO TEXT MESSAGES!! All I wanted was going back to my lonely, little hut. But every adventure ends at some point so I’m looking forward to the next hiking vacation.
