19,3 km – with Prasana.
The Isle of Wight is an island off the southern coast of England. Our final aim is to complete the 113 km long Coastal Path but we’re gonna do that in several stages over 2/3 weekends.
Getting up at 4.30am, we took the train down to Portsmouth and set over from there to Ryde by ferry to start our walk at 10am. We followed the Coastal Path eastwards down to Sandown. It was hot and sunny (unlike the weather forecast – once again –> I was fully prepared for rain). Instead I had to buy my 27th bottle of sun blocker because I keep on forgetting to take them with me. Because of the
fantastic weather the beach and promenade was super busy. Very touristy.
We took our time, had a break here and there, went for a drink or ice cream and were aiming to be in Sandown for the World Cup game Brazil – Netherlands. And indeed, we were there on time, but too tired and too hungry to hang around the pub to see the whole games. Especially because it was decided after 2 minutes… So, no partying tonight, no wild cocktail nights out, no pole dancing bars, just food and bed. We were completely knackered.
