15km – with Prasana, Mohammed, Michon, Mike and Abdah.
What I noticed this morning when we were leaving the refuge was that everyone was in a very positive, happy mood to go down. 3 parties with their guides left the refuge. Prasana and I went down with a lovely Canadian couple and their guide. It was a perfect fit because all of us were into photography, took our time and pictures on our way down. What a relaxed descent. We stopped over at the Muslim shrine (2300m) again to have lunch and get rid off our crampons as here is the snow line.
We were back in Imlil by 4pm.
What I was looking forward to the most was a hot shower. However, in a French-speaking country you should adjust your language skills and count on the ‘C’ to be ‘chaude’ (hot), not cold. I figured it out eventually. After 2,5hs letting run the cold water and asking the hotelier if he could check if we have hot water…
We spent the evening in the common area of our riad and met a lovely Irish couple and shared stories about traveling once more. Interestingly, Beth and Jono have a surf charity based in Shannon, County Clare in Ireland that connects people through surfing operating over entire Irland. They also organise charity treks to Mount Everest base camp. Did there just come up the idea for our next holiday??
